Southeast Division Champions. 9 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws. 29 points.
In our first season.
We scored 33 goals and conceded 16 across fourteen matches, and we needed every bit of that goal difference — South Florida Surf finished on 28 points, one behind us. It went to the last weeks.
The 4–1 win over Floridians FC on July 9 was the one that settled it. Two up at half time, four by the end.
Winning the division sent us straight into the Southern Conference semifinals. On July 22 we flew to Oklahoma City to play the Midland/Odessa Sockers at Taft Stadium, hosted by OKC Energy U23.
We lost it 2–1. DaCosta pulled one back on seventy-seven and we could not find the second.
Paulo Pita has been named to the 2016 PDL All-Southern Conference Team. Thirteen starts. A performance at Charleston that people in this club will be talking about for years. And now recognition across a conference that runs from Texas to the Atlantic. Well deserved.
A division title, a conference semifinal in Oklahoma, and a U.S. Open Cup run that took us to Charleston. What a season!
