With players such as Alvaro Carrera having join our club by first attending our tryouts, we are always eager to see what surprises tryouts may bring.
Coach Anderson was optimistic after seeing how some of our local players fared during this year's tryouts. Our U19 youth team is currently at the top of the table in the Sunshine Conference (which is one of the top youth soccer competitions in the US) and to see how they played at tryouts feels like a confirmation that what we are doing at the youth level is working.
Our inbox is filled with video submissions from players all over the world every year. This year has been no different with some new names being added to the list.
Stay tuned this week for the start of new and returning player announcements. Will your favorite from last year be back?

USL Announces Historic Move Toward Promotion and Relegation
In a groundbreaking shift for American soccer, the United Soccer League (USL) has officially announced its plans to introduce a promotion and relegation system across its professional divisions by 2028. This marks a bold step toward aligning the U.S. soccer landscape with global standards, and it positions the USL as the first major sports league in the country to embrace this structure.
The plan coincides with the upcoming launch of a new USL Division One league in 2027, which will sit above the current USL Championship (Division Two) and USL League One (Division Three). This new tiered system will allow clubs to move up or down based on their performance each season—creating new incentives, higher stakes, and exciting opportunities for teams and communities across the country.
With strong support from club ownership, the league’s decision reflects its commitment to a more competitive and dynamic future for the sport.
Promotion and relegation not only raise the level of play, but also create a true pathway for ambitious clubs to climb the ranks and compete at the highest levels.
As the USL continues to evolve, this announcement represents a major milestone in the league’s mission to grow the game and open new doors for players, fans, and communities nationwide.
