The Villages SC 2–1 FC Florida
Daniel Oliveira scored the first. Eric Ganime got the second.
Half time: 2–1. Full time: 2–1.
In front of our fans, we are Southeast Division Champions again.
Two regular season matches left and we have not needed either of them.
For manning the box with confidence and stepping up with important saves, he is Man of the Match, Jackson Lee, on the night that awarded us the Southeast Division.
We stayed on the field after the whistle to sing and celebrate.
Players, staff, supporters — all of it in the ground we built, on the night we won the division in it.
That is what the last two years had been for.
Nineteen matches unbeaten in the league, stretching back to May 2019.
Our third Southeast Division title, after 2016 and 2019 — and the first won at our own complex.
In 2016 we took it on the last day at the Polo Club. In 2019 we took it with a Gabriel Cabral goal at the complex on the night we dedicated the win to the Ottley family.
Tonight we took it with two matches to spare.
Playoffs next.
