We had a wonderful start to our Season with a 5×1 win against Warner University this past Saturday. “The players didn’t see this game as ‘just a friendly’. They saw it as our first game ever and were ready to give their best”, said Coach Anderson. It was a fast-passed game with players showing some fun ball tricks.
You would not have known it was a friendly from watching our players. Nobody treated it that way. They saw it for what it was — our first game ever — and they played like it.
We scored first. Then a great ball from Carlos Vitor nearly made it two, and moments later it was two anyway.
The third was the best of them — through two players and then lifted over the goalkeeper.
Warner pulled one back at 3–1, and we scored again to make it 4–1.
5–1 by the end.
After the game players from both teams got together and Coach Drew Stacey, head coach of Warner University’s Soccer team, said a prayer asking for continual unity for our team as we go on to play our Inaugural Season.
Thanks to Warner University for hosting our very first game, for the hospitality and sportsmanship!
