We get asked all the time how we find our squad. There is no single answer, and this year's group is a decent illustration.
Kyle Nelson came to us on a recommendation from his coach at Wofford College.
Tim McGlynn came through an open tryout — a goalkeeper out of Southern New Hampshire University.
Uziel Hernandez is local. He came through The Villages Charter School.
Yago Lopez emailed us. He sent a video, we watched it, and he is now in his third season here.
Andy Pierre-Charles was scouted playing in a Central Florida adult league.
Tryouts, scouting, college coaches, local players, and a man who sent us an email. If you think you can play, the door is open.
Tryouts are always the best option. We get to see how the fit our style and give feedback.
One tip on video, since we get hundreds: send us game footage, not practice. Make sure it is recent, and make sure we can tell which one is you. Keep it to defining moments from one game rather than a reel stitched from six.
