Now That's More Like It!

That's the result we were looking for!

It's no secret that we were a bit frustrated after drawing with Brooke House FC last week. Saturday, our players wanted to prove that they were the better side and they did that with a 3-1 win over the Lions!

The Ice Man made a dramatic return.

Niclas Wittur arrived this week and just in time. Filling in for Henrique Gallina at center back, the Brave SC veteran made his first appearance of the season and scored the first goal of the match, tucking a corner kick into the right post late in the first half to put us on the board in the 42nd minute.

Fabinho continued his hot streak.

Fabio Rodrigues demonstrated his penchant for scoring bangers at home with yet another stunning goal. This one was a 30-yard rocket that slipped under the crossbar to give us a 2-0 lead at halftime and turned out to be the game-winner. He also assisted on Niclas's goal.

Matheus was in the middle of everything.

After assisting on Fabio's goal, Matheus Ferreira scored one of his own. He chipped a ball into the box for Nico Diaz, which was knocked away by Brooke House keeper Taner Akin, but the ball came right back to his feet. Seeing the goal was still open, Matheus lobbed a shot over the defense for a third goal and his fifth involvement of the season. That put us comfortably ahead, rendering the Lions' penalty-kick goal in the 90th minute insignificant and allowing us to celebrate the three points!

Coach's Corner

Here's what Anderson DaSilva had to say about the match:"It feels great. Brooke House is a team that, if you give them too much time, they grow, because they're very direct. They defend, then counter. They're nota team that's going to try to build up, and it's dangerous to play against them because one bad decision can cost us a goal. We had some mistakes in the first match and we can't make the same mistakes twice."

Man of the Match: Matheus Ferreira

With a goal and an assist for the second game in a row, Matheus earned Man of the Match Honors. Here's what he had to say:"I promise you, I'm not focusing on goals and assists. I want my team to win, no matter what. My teammates make me comfortable to be in the right places to score and to help them with assists, and I'm happy with whatever it is, as long as we win."
