The BBQ Bash at Spanish Springs yesterday, and our booth did not stop from noon until three.**
Our coaching staff cooked picanha.
Five dollars bought a tasting armband and access to more than forty community teams cooking chicken, pork and beef across the square. A good number of those five-dollar armbands found their way to our tent.
The youth players ran the booth with us
Several of our youth players volunteered for the day.
They served. They talked to everybody who came by. They explained who we are to people who had turned up for lunch and left knowing about a soccer club.
Thank you to every one of them.
The BBQ Bash is run by the Buffalo HERD, the parent organisation behind The Villages Charter School. It is their annual fundraiser.
P.R.I.D.E. — Partnership, Responsibility, Integrity, Dedication, Excellence. The school's values, and the name on the event.
The money pays for what the ordinary budget will not stretch to: tutoring, technology, teacher appreciation. Teams compete for the Golden Buffalo Award and People's Choice.
This is our 4th year participating.
Thank you to everybody who came by, ate something, and gave five dollars to a school in this community.
See you at the field.
