South Florida Surf 1–0 The Villages SC
The first competitive match in this club's history, and it went against us.
30' — the Surf scored, a mishit from our goalkeeper finding them in for a simple finish. One mistake, and it was the difference across ninety minutes.
1–0 at half time, and they had most of the ball for much of the second half. They missed an open goal on 38 that would have settled it, and a one-on-one on 78 came to nothing when a player slipped.
We came closest on 69, with one of our first real shots of the night, and had a dangerous free kick on 88 and a corner in stoppage time. Neither fell for us.
