The Villages SC played it's first home game on Saturday against IMG. We had previously lost a game against IMG (3x1) but this time, in front of your fans, the Buffalo didn't disappoint. We not only got the victory but did it in a convincing manner with 4 goals and lots of opportunities. The support of the fans was what we like to call the "12th player" in this match.
We watched carefully as gray clouds were all around us. But the weather held off and a cool breeze made the afternoon even more pleasant. We were fortunate to have The Villages Twirlers and Drum Corps perform for our opening ceremony. District manager, Janet Tutt, presented the game ball.
The Buffalo are back and the league is taking notice.
We were named game of the week by PDL prior to the game and then later the headline read "Week 6 -The Villages SC takes down IMG in game of the week".
That's not all... They named our player, Willian Hopfner, player of the week "The Villages' Hopfner Claims PDL Player of the week" and included another, Matthieu Le Roux, as Honorable mention.
