Labor Day weekend, September 2 to September 4, 2017
The Villages Cup - at the Polo Club, with over seven hundred young athletes from across Florida.
The fields
A regular polo field is 300 yards by 160 yards. Our location has 4 polo fields.
That is why this tournament can run multiple full-size soccer fields on one site, with everything in walking distance — and it is why those fields drain the way they do. Participants praised the playing conditions all weekend.
And the town around it
Where else can you play on fields like these and then have beautiful town squares to choose from?
Free nightly entertainment, dining and shopping at any of them, all within minutes of the pitch.
The tournament drew prominent youth academies from across Central Florida, and teams from neighboring states.
The relief drive
We partnered with T&D to collect goods for the Hurricane Harvey relief effort, with a trailer at the Polo Grounds through the weekend. Drop-offs on Saturday and Sunday, nine till five.
Everything collected went directly to Texas.
Two trucks in two days.
> "Harvey's Hurricane Relief this weekend was a great success! Two trucks in two days. Thank you to all those who dropped off donations, and to T&D and Josh Yoder for making this all possible."
Three years at the Polo Club. Sixty teams and three thousand people a day in 2015. A weekend in 2016 when every other tournament in the region cancelled for rain and ours did not. And this one — seven hundred athletes, two trucks of relief supplies, and a field that people kept taking photographs of.
Another great tournament.
