An evening with the Huskies

We spent an evening with the University of Connecticut Sports Club of The Villages.**

President Wendell Goldsmith invited us to speak at their meeting on March 7, which also happened to be the club's third birthday party.

We talked about our PDL team and about the youth club. Coach Anderson spoke about how he came to The Villages and about how he sees the game.

And then we listened, which was the better part of the evening. We learned about their club, and about UConn's athletes, from people who have followed that programme for a very long time.

They were wonderful hosts.

They made sure the presentation ran properly, they asked good questions, and they fed us — which is not nothing when you are the people who turned up to talk.

We would like to find ways to work with this group, and we will.

And one day soon we would like a UConn soccer player on our roster.

Go Huskies. Go Buffalo.
