Another point

The Buffalo picked up another point on the road with their 1-1 draw against Brooke House SC last Saturday. Matheus Ferreira scored in the 29th minute, off an assist from Urus Rosic.

Coach Fabio Rodrigues talked a little about how the team looked better in this match, and with a few players' injuries healing up, he is looking forward to the rest of the season.

The defense was strong throughout, allowing very few chances for the attack from the opposition. The only goal scored by Brooke House was from a penalty kick. Coach Fabio credited this to both the players and coaches. “I think we’re a family, so we fight for one another. Also amazing coaching from our head coach.” The team chemistry is something that he mentioned multiple times, and how it only grows as the season progresses.

The offense got plenty of chances, attempting 20 shots and putting in 26 crosses throughout the match. “I think the goals will come naturally” was Coach Fabio's response when asked about the 20 shots turning into one goal. He discussed how sometimes the ball just bounces the wrong way, and that he has faith in the team. Nicolai Muench led the team with four shots, two of them on goal. Breno Correia and Urus both attempted three shots, while Nazar Deputat came off the bench in the 69th minute and took two.

Brooke House SC had a player sent off with a red card in the second half, while the only card for the Buffalo came from a yellow shown to Mathaus in the 36th minute.

Coach Fabio said the thing he is most looking forward to is getting that first home win of the season in front of the fans and being undefeated at home. He finished our conversation by saying, “It’s our stadium, it’s our people. So just excited to go help them enjoy the game and get a dub.”
