The Villages SC 4–2 FC Miami City

Our first home match at our own complex. Eleven years after this club was founded, and three seasons after it had a senior team, we played a league fixture on our own ground.

17690 S. Highway 301, Summerfield.

It rained all day.

The forecast had it at 40% around kickoff and falling. We posted that morning that we were playing. It cleared just in time.

One in the first half. Three more after it. 4–2.

> "Rain of four goals! Well done Buffalo."

Man of the Match - Gabriel Viola

The grass was a carpet. The turf had arrived the same week we started practising on it, and it held up like it had been down for years.

The fans came in numbers and filled the bleachers.

Green and yellow smoke went off every time we scored.

Buff was out greeting everybody, as he does.

> "It was a beautiful night and the Buffalo played well. It was nice to be closer to the action."

> "Great game, congrats on your first home win. This starts history for you."

> "More seating wouldn't hurt."

We could not have asked for a better home opener. Great support, plenty of goals, and a ground that belongs to this club.

In February there was a shovel in the dirt out here and a cow pasture. In May our Gold Pass members collected their season tickets standing on this grass. Tonight there were four goals and smoke bombs.

Welcome home.
