Game: Brooke House FC vs Brave SC on June 6, 2026
Hard work, determination, and a winning mentality made Caio Tascheto the Man of the Match. He didn't stop running from the first whistle to the last. He set up our first goal with a nice cross, connected well with his teammates, connected play, and pushed his teammates throughout the game.
Tascheto met with Dr. Maen Hussein at the The Standard for Coffee and Questions. Drink of choice: espresso.
First year playing for the Brave SC? What made you want to come here?
I'm not a guy that follows institutions, I follow people. I heard about Coach Anderson through people I used to play with. That’s why I’m here.
What has stood out about the experience so far?
The people are amazing. I love being part of this program.
So where did you grow up?
I grew up in Rondonopolis, Mato Grosso (Brazil.) A small town, similar to the Midwest. Mostly farming.
How does that compare to The Villages?
It is similar in how calm it is and also more family oriented.
Did you attend college here in the USA?
Yes, I did. I had a unique college career, playing for a different team each year. I started at UNOH in Ohio, then went to Arizona Western (reaching the national finals). I spent my third year at Xavier in Louisiana, my fourth at Newman in Kansas, and finished with a master's year at Bowling Green State.
Who's the player you looked up to growing up?
I liked to watch Ronaldinho and Lucio , but my idol Sergio Ramos from Spain.
How do you feel about the season so far?
I think it's pretty good. No losses. I think we're gonna make it.
How about team chemistry?
We started struggling in the beginning because it's a short season and everybody's getting to know each other. Now we know more of how everyone plays together. The chemistry is building up. We're getting better each day.
You've worn the captain's armband for several matches. What does that responsibility mean to you?
I’m just another guy on the team. I try to help my teammates to get everyone’s attention so we can be on the same page and that's the responsibility that coach gave me.
What do you think fans might be surprised to find out about you?
I play seven instruments. Piano, guitar, cavaquinho and others.
Who do you think will win the World Cup?
Hopefully. Brazil.
What would you like to say to the supporters who came to the home opener?
Thank you for being there and I hope to see you again at the next game.
