FC Miami City 0–1 The Villages SC
The sixth match of the season, in Miami, delayed a few minutes at kickoff by weather with the squad already out warming up.
Jackson Lee kept this match goalless for long stretches. His save on 55 was the most important of the night, and it was not his first.
At the other end, Miami's goalkeeper made a big save from a Buffalo corner on 80, and it looked like one of those nights where nothing would give.
Then on 85, Miami's defence made a mistake, and we scored.
1–0.
And then the last minutes
Miami were awarded a penalty.
Jackson Lee saved it.
Our captain, in the closing stages of a one-goal away win, with the match on it.
Man of the Match: Fernando Abreu.
Instrumental in the middle, winning the ball on the ground and in the air. He never stopped defending and was always looking to move the ball forward quickly.
Abreu joined this season from Keiser University, where he earned First Team honours as a sophomore. He went to Celebration High School in Florida.
A difficult moment on the hour. A Miami player went down on 64 and was carried off on 66. There was no foul play involved. We hope he recovered well.
Three points on the road, with a clean sheet, against a club we have played more than almost any other.
Home on Wednesday, June 15th.
