Brave SC 1–2 Sporting Jax
We led, and we lost it.
This fixture has more history than any other on our calendar.
Sporting Jax are the club formerly known as Florida Elite, who joined USL League Two in 2019. Both of us rebranded within the last two years, and none of it has changed what happens when these two teams meet.
What has happened before:
At the complex, we came back from a tied position a man down to beat them.
Last season, they scored inside thirty seconds here and we came back and won it anyway.
This season's opener, in Jacksonville, finished with ten men on each side after two first-half red cards.
And the first match Brave SC ever played at The Range, two years ago: we led 1–0, took a red card, they took one, we took a second, and the match finished ten against nine. They won it with a goal in stoppage time and spoiled our opening night at a new ground.
We took seven points from a possible nine off them last season.
Five goals conceded in our first three matches — the most in several seasons over that short a stretch, and not the start we wanted.
Florida Elite hasn’t won the Southeast Division since joining this league in 2019. That has not stopped them being a tough opponent.
They push us. That helps get us ready for playoffs.
