Home sweet home

We play our first home match of the season tomorrow (Wed. June 4th) at 7 p.m. as we get a second look at Sporting Club Jacksonville whom we will be playing 3 times this season. The first game ended in a 2-2 draw and was the first match of the season for both teams.

The Buffalo currently sit at the bottom of the league (0-1-2) table in sixth place with two points, while Sporting Jax (1-1-1) are in third with four points.

The slow start this season can be traced to multiple sources. Having scored only four goals across three games, has been quite unusual. In the 1-1 draw against Brooke House, we had 20 shots on goal!

But sometimes the ball just doesn't go in.

There is also the injury struggles. Nico Diaz, who scored eight goals in the regular season as well as an additional goal in the playoffs last season, has been limited to just 45 minutes played so far. Some of the new players coach was counting on have had old injuries flair up or new ones occur. Pablo, Robert, Ailton, Tarik and others.

These injuries all across the lineup have been adding up forcing players like Breno Correia and Nicolai Muench into unusual roles, which both have excelled in, as shown by each being named “man of the match.” As more players heal and return, others move back to their natural positions, allowing us to focus more on our playing style.

Today we had our first training at the stadium so the players can get a feel for the pitch. Coaches and player were in very high spirits.

Players are looking forward to playing our first game at home. We are excited and ready to get the win, especially now that we have you there with us.
