The Villages SC 3–0 Next Academy Palm Beach
The last match of the regular season, at the Polo Grounds, and a clean sheet to close it out.
3–0

Fill the Truck
We ran a food drive, in partnership with the UConn Huskies.
One raffle ticket for every bag of non-perishable food donated. The drawing was at half time, and the prizes were fan apparel and gift cards donated by local businesses.
Everything collected went to the College Colors Day Funds for Food Drive — a community-wide competitive fundraiser in which local college alumni clubs raise money for food pantries and soup kitchens in this area.
And the Huskies stayed for the match.
The University of Connecticut Sports Club of The Villages came out in numbers, filled the truck, and then stayed to watch and cheer our players on.
They were great.
In March we had spoken at their meeting at their invitation — their third birthday, as it happened — and said we hoped to find ways to work with them.
Four months later they were at our ground, filling a truck with food for people in this county.
Thank you to everybody who brought a bag.
That result finished our season 9–2–3 on 30 points, second in the Southeast Division — and it took us into the Southern Conference playoffs.
As the wildcard. The only team going to Statesboro that had not won its own division.
UPDATE:
COLLEGE COLORS DAY!
We are so excited to share with you that UCONN came in 4th place with a total of 3,560.5 pounds collected!
College Colors Day raised a total of 40,493 pounds of food that was donated to several food pantries in the area!
We hope to work with UCONN again in the future for this amazing cause!
Go Huskies! Go Buffalo!
