Two of our players were selected in the MLS SuperDraft last night.
LAFC took goalkeeper Jackson Lee with the 28th pick. Charlotte FC took Jahlane Forbes at 38.
Two players, from one USL League Two squad, in the same draft.
We have said for years that this league is a place where players get seen. Last night that stopped being an argument and became a fact with two names attached to it.
They are not the first to go from here into the professional game. Paulo Pita signed with LA Galaxy. Josh Fawole went to DC United. Gabriel Torres went to Hartford Athletic.
To Jackson and to Jahlane: congratulations. Go and take it as far as it goes.
And to every player weighing up where to spend a summer — this is what it can look like.
