The Villages SC 1–3 South Florida Surf
The club we lost to in our first ever PDL match came to the Polo Club and beat us again.
We started well. An error from the Surf defence on 2 put Carlos Jr in on goal and their keeper went down to stop it. Paulo Pita caught and cleared a hard strike on 7.
8' — the Surf scored, from a quality cross and finish. 18' — the Surf scored again, a cross from the winger finding a player who slotted it home.
0–2 inside twenty minutes.
Pita saved from outside the box on 23. We had a free kick in a good position on 35 and a long-range effort from Maciel on 38, collected easily. Another dangerous free kick on 40.
And on 44, Pita went down with what looked like an arm or shoulder injury.
0–2 at half time.
48' — a brilliantly worked third for the Surf.
We kept going. A corner on 54. Massen went close on a volley on 64, just high. A strong effort from distance blocked out on 67.
83' — a foul in the box, and a penalty to the Buffalo.
We scored it.
