Almost two year since our fans were able to cheer together but that made the return so much sweeter!
New bleachers and sitting arrangement, new lights, barricades, fan store and a whole lot of excitement. We went into the game with extra motivation. To play for the first win of the season and not only that but to give our fan a special “welcome back”. That is just what we did giving the fans not one or two but three opportunities to celebrate a goal. Lots of smoke green and yellow smoke from The Raging Herd and the Tri County Stampede filled the air. Two Buffalo goals scored just before the half and then one more during the second half to seal the deal.
The Villages SC 3–0 FC Miami City
Three goals, a clean sheet, and our first three points of the season — in our first match back at our own field.
Pedro Santos opened it with a header from a Daniel Oliveira corner, swung in from the left. His first of the season. He took a knock in the process and played on.
Leo Paiva made it two from the penalty spot, also his first of the year, buried into the corner with the keeper going the right way and getting nowhere near it.
And on 72 minutes, Fall — a new signing this season, out of Clearwater — saw the goalkeeper off his line, played it to the far post and rolled it in. A lovely finish, and the third.
3–0.
Miami's goalkeeper had a busy night and kept the score down. It could have been four or five.
Our first win of the season, our first at home, and a clean sheet to go with it.
Man of the Match: Pedro Santos. First goal of the season and Man of the Match.
It was wonderful to see you all!
